The Carmine Mesh Top

Things have been warming up just a little bit here in my part of the world (read: time for some crochet tank top patterns!). There are gorgeous little spring flowers dusting the ground and a thousand bird songs as my sound-track to spring. Thank goodness, they’re a welcome distraction from a little bit of cabin fever! I hope you’re all keeping safe and sane during your time at home. mesh crochet top

I’m dreaming of warm breezes and watching the kids play in the yard while I dream up my next project. And in these dreams, I’ll be wearing this new mesh crochet tank top and sipping a cold lemonade under the shade of my back-yard maglonia tree. Sigh…

I absolutely love the honeycomb look of this stitch using a half double crochet instead of a double crochet which I thought would make it too open. The yarn I chose for this crochet tank top (Loops & Threads Snuggly Stripes Wool in Tarragon, a #1 super fine) is a colorway which I think adds a lot of interest to an otherwise simple mesh.

This is a very easy crochet mesh top, an easy repetitive stitch combo that works up quickly. In addition, it’s made as just one piece and seamed down the side, so it really is simplicity at its best.
