MODERN CROCHET THROW “Charlotte” – Free Pattern

“Charlotte” Crochet Throw Blanket

I absolutely love a simple, modern crochet throw blanket, don’t you? While this Charlotte Crochet Throw is a large piece, it really couldn’t be easier to make. If you don’t believe me, just look below at how short the pattern is, haha!

There is still quite a bit of snow on the ground here in Toronto and it’s still cold enough to crave a soft, thick blanket for snuggling up in. So I know you can’t blame me for wanting to make an elegant but simple crochet blanket that fits in with pretty much any design style.

This modern crochet throw uses a chunky yarn, Category 6 from Loops & Threads (Cozy Wool) which is 50% wool and 50% acrylic. This is a true heirloom blanket, my friends. I love this gorgeous neutral color, too, which is Mushroom, although Loops & Threads has a nice selection of colors in this yarn line.

I just know you’re going to love making this textured modern crochet throw blanket, it really is a simple one to make with big impact. The best part is, for the remainder of the winter, you can snuggle up under it AS you’re making it!

For more crochet throw blankets, take a look at the Sunday Throw, the Andrea Throw and the Faith Throw.

PATTERN AND SIZING NOTES
– This modern crochet throw blanket is worked in one piece.
– The faux bobbles of are created using a Triple Crochet between Single Crochets so that the reduced height of the Single Crochet pulls the Triple Crochet down and pops it out.
– The Single Crochets after the Triple Crochets should be very tight in tension so that the TC pops.
– The CH 1 at the start of each row DOES count as a stitch from rows 2 to the end, so you will be skipping the first ST in each row and doing your last ST in to the CH 1 from the row below – this just makes a cleaner edge.
– The rows with the faux bobbles are offset from the bobble rows on either side of it.
– Stitch count for each round will be indicated in parentheses ( ) at the end of the row.
