I have a confession to make. In the eight years my husband and I have been together, I’ve never completed a project for him (even something as simple as this crochet men’s scarf). I’ve started a few, but always seem to become distracted by another new and exciting project and end up putting it aside. Half of a lonely sweater and a hat sit sadly in my “to complete pile” even now and have been there for close to a year.
So I decided to start with something a little quicker. Something I could complete before distraction set in. Something he would like and wear in this increasingly chilly weather.
For this particular crochet men’s scarf I knew I wanted to use the Moss/Granite/Linen stitch because I find it to be a very masculine stitch – at least in comparison to a lot of other flowery stitches out there. This stitch is a simple stitch but creates a gorgeous woven look.
As for the colors, well I know black and grey will go with nearly anything he wears so he’s not limited to only wearing it with a particular jacket or sweater. And my guy looks great in black 🙂 That being said, the color block style on this crochet men’s scarft would look wonderful in any other color combination you can come up with!
This scarf isn’t limited to men only, it would work wonderfully as a woman’s scarf as well. I simply named it as such because I had made it for hubby… and then he modeled it for me 🙂
